But I don't *want* to go among mad people...
Finally I have time to blog. Sheesh, I hate school. And now my sleep schedule is perma-fucked from my all-nighters. Oh well!
Hm, what did I do this week...oh yeah. Got two new CD's - the Big O Original Sound Score, and the Big O Original Drama Theater CD. XD I actually really like them both - and the dorama CD is downright hilarious. Roger keeps losing his cool and yelling at Dorothy, and she just mocks him. Cute rabu-rabu is good and all, but darnit, I just adore cases of surly-love. They give me that happy tingly feeling. ^_^
Which reminds me of certain cliches in fics I've read recently that just make me twitch. Namely the phrases 'soul mate' or 'life partner' or what not. It's like, ugh, the characters you're writing about just tumbled into bed, and all of a sudden they're spouting these cliches like they'd gotten surgically attached to each other. Maybe it's just too neat a fix to relationships - ' oh, they match perfectly! Yay, everything's set forever and ever and they'll never fight because they're perfect for each other and they'd never even find anyone else remotely attractive because darnit, they're soul mates!' You know what I mean? It just annoys me, I guess, when I encounter that cliche. Maybe because I guess I have the opinion that most people aren't naturally perfectly fitted to each other - they have to work towards a compromise, you know?
That was way too much philosophy for 4 am. And no, this *was* just totally out of the blue; all that babble came from when I was trying to figure out WHY I rolled my eyes when I got to the phrase 'soul mates' in a fic. Oh, right! It was some fic where Girl A, whose fiance Boy B was missing for a few months. During this time, Girl A kissed Boy C, and it wasn't really a big deal, it was more friendly than anything else. But then the ML I was on was all, " Well, when Boy B comes back, of course he's not going to be even slightly annoyed that she kissed Boy C! Girl A and Boy B are *soul mates*, so of course he'll know that she didn't really mean anything and it doesn't mean anything to her and therefore Boy B won't mind at all!" To me, that's just a way-too-idealized view of relationships, which maybe is the point of fantasy, but it just rings false with me. Y'know?
Just started snowing this week. I'm going up to Chicago for Thanksgiving on Friday, it seems. So I'll be in town until then if anyone wants to torment me...*hopeful look* When were y'all planning to go to Mitsuwa on Saturday? Give me a time, and I'll try to be there!
*huge yawn* Apparently, while studying for my anatomy lab practical, I gave Krisit a really evil Initial D plotbunny. @_@ The Koyasu-character in ID, Ryousuke, is pre-med or something. And I merely commented, at about 5 am, that I actually had to know where the G-spot was for my lab practical, since it's on the females approximately where the prostate would be on the male. And then of course this opened a world of possibilities of how Ryousuke might have to 'practice' on his little brother, the Seki Tomokazu-character, who even in canon is a bit too fixated on his aniki. I have created a monster! @_@ XD
Deshi-chan - ganbare!
Oh, and Krisit: don't be too freaked out at the prospect you need medication. It *sounds* scary to visit a shrink - I was nervous - but it's not all that bad, at least if you have a nice shrink. And I think my medication is doing me a world of good even after just a month. I'm re-visiting the shrink on Monday so she can see how I liked the Celexa and see if I want an actual prescription for it. You know how fucking wonderful it is to feel *good* for once? You'd be surprised.
Random link for today: the Thin H Line - disturbing, hilarious, and 18+ only. ( Or whatever age, as long as you aren't surprised. It IS the Thin H Line, after all. ) It's a weekly comic.
Washed my hair, and now I'm all frizzy. Hee.
For your disturbed thought of the day: Vash the Stampede's seiyuu is Onosaka Masaya. Now, upon a quick check, I discover that he's also played:
Big Keroberos in CCS
Takeo-kun in MTT!
Leon in Petshop of Horrors
Jadeite in Sailor Moon.
Y'all probably knew that, but this disturbs the hell out of me, especially the Takeo-kun bit. Oh MAN, the mental images! XD No, that's not the worst thing. I just remembered that Seki Toshihiko both played Count D and Legato. Christ, that's a weirder mental image, for those two seiyuu to be in the same show again. ;;^^
Okay, that's enough for now. Ja--!

* Oruha pictures milly karaoke'ing e-rotic to wolfwood XD
Ah, another fun day. Dammit, I hate 20-hour days.
deshi-chan, I'm really sorry about what happened to your pages. Fucking sucks. >_< I can't believe she deleted them all. Do you have backups? Genki dashite! ;_;
Kya-chan - yeah, Juri was just anticipating my evil thoughts. I can't help it! That entire damn episode, I was like, " Oh, he likes Milly! Wait, he just mentioned how Vash is better. Okay....Milly...Vash. Milly...Vash. Can't he give her a damn compliment without thinking of Vash?!" But apparently not. Then I found all the lovely fanart sites and I was in hog heaven. But I know how it is to be a yaoi fangirl and totally squicked by one particular pairing or another - for me, it's Jet/Spike or vice versa. Bebop slash scares the hell out of me, except for the very slight possible exception of Spike x Vicious or vice-versa. ( Vicious as the uke...bwahahahaha XD ) Trigun slash doesn't bother me at all, but that's just me, probably. n_n
Oh, about that quote above. *nervous laughter* Lemme cut and paste the conversation from IRC:
* Oruha stares at Vash *_*
< Oruha> he looks so badass
< KowaiBear> my wolfwood should come soon!
< KowaiBear> dammit, i wish his name were shorter.
< Akusesu> That doesn't sound right.
< Akusesu> "my wolfwood should come soon!"
< Oruha> puu, bring your wolfwood over and he can play with my vash >D
< KowaiBear> no, what's really wrong about wolfwood's name is that i can't call him anything else.
< Oruha> call him....nick
< KowaiBear> nicholas is right out, due to the 'nicky' associations >_M
< Oruha> XD
< KowaiBear> GOMFH!!
* Oruha pictures milly karaoke'ing e-rotic to wolfwood XD
< KowaiBear> _O_
< Oruha> >D
< KowaiBear> thank you, I didn't need that mental image. XD
In case you've never played Dance Dance Revolution, there's...this song by the group E-Rotic. It's called 'Oh Nick Please Not So Quick.'
Read the lyrics , or listen to the song , get the mental image, and shudder in fear. Thank you, Jurinyu , that was WRONG. >D
Today, to cheer Juri-nyu up, I hunted for JP Big O fanart sites, and I found some! Some are gorgeous and downright hysterical, and some scare the holy hell out of me. ( I feel dirty! More about that later. n_n )
And now for the 'I feel so dirty' bit. XD Here's the last page I found: Gambare Omie-chan! which is a Roger Smith fanpage. Note the charming engrish on the main page XD I went to the 'Fan has Fun' page, and clicked on the 'Gag' picture, figuring it was an omake. Nuh uh. XD Browse away! XD
I love browsing JP fanart sites. It's become a sick obsession for me now. But I better work on my cockroach hormone paper. @_@
Ja!

If I could only remember the name that's enough for me, 'cause names hold the key...
Whew, tired. I'm getting old; I need *days* to recover from wild debaucheries. Juri, Krisit, Cat; it was lots of fun to have you all over. We oughta do this more often, ne? As Juri said, we DDR'd like maniacs, went out and were evil at Damon's ( first we were the 'genki' team, and then the 'hentai' XD ) and then we got back and watched a lot of stuff. I forcefed Jurinyu and Cat Petshop of Horrors, which is most excellent, and we watched Trigun volume...er...4? so I could get my Wolfwood fix, and then Di Gi Charat. We started to watch Houshin Engi, but Jurinyu was falling asleep, so while she dozed for an hour or two, I let Krisit show me Initial D. Scary, but not bad at all. XD ( Although those guys will never get laid, the way they caress their cars o.o ) When Juri woke up, we watched some Houshin Engi and Gokudo-kun! I like Gokudo-kun; it has not ONE but TWO Ishida-kun roles! Gokudo-kun, the voice 'with balls', and Seigi, the usual uke-chan Ishida-kun voice. It boggles the mind to hear Ishida-kun use 'ore-sama'; he doesn't sound like himself! XD So it was all good. And yes, JAC was fun! Trigun 12(?): More Wolfwood for me, some Vash for Juri, angst, and sparklies. But the most amusing moment for me was at the end of the episode I turned and looked at Juri. Before I could even open my mouth, she said, ' YES, it was very slashy!' I'm so proud of you, Jurinyu! *_* Speaking of which, I found a whole plethora of Trigun slash sites, which have some lovely fanart ( that's where I was finding all those pictures for you, Juri! ) and here we go!
Fun for the entire family!
I also taught an Indian mythology class today. It was fun. I'm going to do it on a more regular basis.
Working on the Northwestern app now.
I'm tired, and it's getting cold outside.

12:29 p.m.
I was at an all-nite diner, the sign said triple-x but they were talkin' 'bout rootbeer...
You know, deshi, if you're such a good debater, why can't you ever convince people that *you* should be the seme and not me? *kusukusu* It must just be the master/apprentice dynamics. ( Uh...everyone, don't ask. It takes too long to explain. And Kami-sama herself has to mediate our arguments over who would be the seme if Tanzy and I were in a yaoi DJ. Nevermind neither of us has the necessary equipment; I already have a pet uke. It's just too weird. )
I think I have a cold. It was 40 F yesterday and raining so hard our street flooded. It was also so windy that my umbrella kept turning inside out, so eventually I was like, " aw, fuck it " and put my umbrella away. So I was ice-cold and soaked to the skin by the time I got home. Rain is good, but only when it's warm.
Juri-nyu and krisit are coming tonight for wild debaucheries! Yay! Now I hafta find gameshark codes for first mix, or whatever, that actually WORK. Darnit.
*reading about Draco's singing Captain Planet boxers and dying of laughter*

Holding blunt instrument
Dammit, Jurinyu, you're pushy! See, I'm blogging now, happy? :P ^_^ And yes, if you get ahold of krisit, Friday night at my place is on. If any of you are in the Champaign-Urbana area and want to drop by to DDR, watch anime, and be lazy, email me or drop by. I'm in the phone book. ( Warning to any potential stalkers: I'm dangerous. I bite. ^_^ )
deshi - I'm glad the situation isn't as bad as it seems. Ganbatte, ne! And WHAT deviant yaoi site was this? Ugh, on second thought, nevermind. ^_^
JP Fanart sites of the day:
That's enough for now - just game fanart here. I'll do another search later.
I'm tired. Got a lot of work to do before I can party this Friday night. An explication to plan out, and two or three lab reports, I forget how many. Shit. Oh well, I'm in a good mood and I've had enough sleep, for once!
Got an adorable Di Gi Charat doujinshi today. I'll scan it in later. +_+
It's cold, but I just had some soup. I feel warm inside.
