( insert witty quote here )

No, goddammit, I can do better than that! How about...er...' I dress this way just to keep them at bay ' or something equally obvious? ^_^

Ah, krisit, you've finally added to your blog! Yeah, I remember the Halloween days of yore...such as the year where you were a convict and I was your parole officer? ( Meaning we didn't dress up at all, just went door to door and demanded candy XD )

Or the year you foolishly let me near your hair with styling gel in hope of making your hair look like Tasuki's? Dammit, I can't help it that your hair won out over the gel, can I? It's your hair's fault, not MINE! ( right, people? ) Don't we still have blackmail pictures of that somewhere?

Or the year you sewed that Sailormars costume for Lynn? Heh heh...that must have been my freshman year, since we were still both taking the bus in to class. It was cold, I remember, because she showed me she was wearing two sets of undies. ( Thinks of the too-revealing pictures of Ikuhara ) Ah, right, well, we got on the bus, and she and I sat in the first row of seats, right in view of the bus driver in that huge-ass rear-view mirror he uses to keep an eye on the bus? Well, I swear to god, her skirt musta been riding up more than usual, because he nearly rear-ended the cars in front of him half a dozen times in the ten-minute busride to campus. It was funny as hell.

To make things more interesting, that night she and I went to a house party where some Japanese death metal band was playing. *kusukusu* She showed up, dressed up as Sailormars, and I think Ray was dressed as a ghost, something like that. The band stared at Lynn and pointed. " Sailormars!! *hysterical laughter*" That band was funny; they were so polite when setting up, and then all of a sudden the guitars start and they're screaming and thrashing around. It was awesome!

Of course, the best part was the fact that I don't think they knew it was 'Halloween.' So they probably thought Lynn was some weirdo cosplayer and Ray was a member of the KKK. *snicker*

This year, for Halloween, I vivisected several cockroaches in lab, fell asleep in lecture beforehand, came home, took a nap, and then woke up to blog and study for an anatomy exam tomorrow. Ah, to be young and foolish again...

Well, maybe just young, right?

Happy Halloween to y'all - what weird memories do you have?

De gustibus non disputandem est

Hm. Woke up this morning and dragged my ass to campus to get a replacement recommendation form for one of the professors I need a letter from. I gave him the first form in late August, wrote him three weeks ago and politely reminded him I needed a letter, and yesterday, 10/30, the day I said I needed the letters BY, he writes me and says he lost the form. *sigh* Well, I already sent off the rest of my letters to two schools, but I got him a new form this morning. ._.#

I'm also trying to buy the TRIGUN manga, but apparently there are two series: Trigun and Trigun Maximum. I have no clue which one I want to order. @_@ Goshdarnit! I need new manga! Rar! Okay, upon consulting my esteemed colleagues, it seems I want Trigun Maximum.

I have a weird Wolfwood need that must be appeased.

Apparently angrycow linked my blog. Yay! Thanks! ^_^

Oh, I might as well address the semi-topic of this entry: ' there's no accounting for taste.' I guess it came up when I was wondering, " Why is it okay for fangirls to love and write yaoi, but it's 'ew!' for fanboys to read and write yuri? Isn't that hypocritical?" There was a discussion about this on one of the yaoi ml I'm on, and someone came up with this really bizarre answer as to why guys should not be allowed to read yuri:
" Speaking of (f/f) erotica, mostly, the intended audience is emphatically not male, and many queer women would not welcome the implicit voyeurism/disruption of the lesbian dynamic that comes with male reading.....and due to political and other considerations, male readership is an intrusion, a forcing of male (hetero)sexuality into an otherwise all female space, a violation.) Even non 'erotic' (non NC-17) f/f fic is placed into that all-female space, where men are, whatever their intentions, views, personalities, etc., an (unwelcome) intrusion." ( credited to the author; I'll just leave them anonymous for now but know that this isn't my words, etc etc ass-covering. The author goes on to say that this is the radical feminist view, she doesn't necessarily agree with it, but she can sort of see it, etc etc.)

I read that, and I was like, WTF?! It was like my sociology textbooks had thrown up all over me. Female space, heterosexuality, the lesbian dynamic...why don't you just say it creeps you out? But I find it pretty hypocritical to find this on a yaoi/slash list, where it's essentially all-female. How is a bunch of (non-homosexual-males) reading slash different from (non-homosexual-females) reading yuri? I know that a lot of gay men find it insulting, though, that women would write and read yaoi...well, like I said, " de gustibus non disputandem est." Write and read whatever you want, and don't waste so many braincells worrying about what everyone else is getting their rocks off on.

What is this, ' Ew!!! No boy cooties!!!" or something?

Yep! That's my polemic for the day. Enjoy.

Day's dawning skin's crawling

Damn, Juri! Be patient! I'll write an entry when I'm done with my Yale app! And yes, strangle RJ for me for the Big O OP. >_< And sankyuu~ to Emi and Juri for linking my blog. ^^

Juri and I saw Ayashi no Ceres #1-4 on Saturday. ( Well, I've seen #1-8, and I've read the manga, but it was all new to Juri-chan. ) It was interesting, of course; it looks like it's a decent adaptation of the manga ( although everything is rearranged a bit; in the manga, the confrontation between Aya and her mom is at their home, not at the hospital, and so on, and Aya seems to be less of a total ho-bag in the anime (shock!) ) but it brings up something that has always amused me about Watase Yuu's manga:
What's with Watase-sensei and twins?!
Amiboshi and Suboshi. Aki and Aya. If they're twins, they're usually up to something twisted with each other. ^^ I wonder if sensei has siblings, or if this is just her own amusing kink. *kusukusu*

Another thing I've always wondered is why so many bishounen have a 'reset' button for their memory. I swear, they're pretty, but seem completely incapable of holding onto a coherent thought at one point or another. Tamahome. Tooya. Vash. Mamoru. They're practically animated Etch-a-Sketches - one good bonk/potion/spell, and they reset.

Mysterious, isn't it?

Paging Celexa...come in, Celexa...

Yay! I finally got myself a blog. I can't believe I felt peer pressure to get one. Damn you, Emi and Juri!

Now that I have one I have absolutely no idea what to say, except that my feet are cold. The house was set at 55F this morning. I need to rage at someone about that.

Juri oh-so-kindly uploaded the full OP to the anime show 'Big O', and after downloading it, all I can say is, what the hell was THAT? It's an unholy conglomeration of many Queen songs, sung by an excellent Japanese Freddie Mercury impersonator with a stick up his ass, or the reanimated corpse of Freddie himself. I can't tell which. The sad thing is, I can't get it out of my head. o/~ Big O! Big O Big O Big O~~! o/~

Right now I'm working on my med school apps. Wash U and Duke are under my belt, and now I hafta finish Yale and Stanford in the next two weeks.

o/~ Cast in the name of God, ye not guilty! We have come to terms, BIG O! o/~

Whoops, there goes that OP again. Ignore it. @_@

And yes, the layout for my blog-chan has R. Dorothy Wainwright on it. She's the sarcastic android girl from The Big O. Roger Smith, the hero, is essentially employed by/is employing her ( it's a long story ) and he told her that the rules of his house are that everyone has to wear black. Dorothy looks at him, in his black dressing gown, looks at the black-clad butler, looks at the black dress she's going to be forced to wear, and then just stares at Roger again. " Your taste in clothing SUCKS."

I finally got my DDR pads and Gameshark, and have been DDR'ing like mad. I told my sister, who usually mocks all things Japanese, especially anime and games and things, and her reaction was, ' I'M COMING OVER. NOW.' Strange. @_@

And yes, my medication is making me really hyper. It's odd. I better go listen to that OP again to appease my voices....
