It was a starstruck starry night.
Yes, this is one of the corrections I had to make. I never want to look at a children's reading workbook again in my life. But I'll be doing it tomorrow, and the day after, and...luckily, I got my sample edit back from the senior editor, and 95% of the corrections he had to make were dash sizes ( en and em dashes - don't worry about 'em, I'll do that for you ) that I can easily fix. I'm surprised. I know I don't come across as terribly articulate in my blog or chat, but apparently I have enough skill0rZ for editing sometimes. XD I think I just don't practice what I preach, that's all. ;;^^

I had the oddest dream last night. I was with...a bunch of people, and we needed a drop of blood, for whatever reason. So, I get a knife, and I cut across my palm. But no blood shows. I keep cutting ( the knife's pretty dull ) deeper and deeper, and the flesh is parting, but there's no blood! Finally someone else sticks their fingertip with a pin, and they get a drop of blood for whatever it was. And I look at my hand, which has this deep, bloodless gash in it, and I can see what's inside my hand. And my hand is made of thin wires and rubber bands and the flesh was cheap plastic clothlike stuff - it looked like the inside of a DDR pad, if you flip it over and cut it open. It was all mechanical.
I think I better not mention this dream to my shrink tomorrow. She'd have a field day with that one. ;;^^
I want to go to Chi-town again! Maybe the weekend after next? Will anyone be there? T_T
Oh, and I found f0xtrot sl4sh. Yes, really. >_< Didn't even open it to read it.
I just burned a new cd to listen to when I'm at work. I called it 'cheap 80's thrills.'
I got my new KOF posters! They are HELLA 1337! One of the frothing maniac alone, one of the cast of KOF '99, one of K', Kyo, and Iori, and one of Kyo and Iori fighting which always makes me think, " Boys, don't you have anything better to do? Kyo, you're 22, shouldn't you be finishing high school or something? And you! Iori! There's, uh, raw meat to devour, and bass to play, right? Stop fighting! Hey! Pay attention!" They're on opposite sides of a snowy ravine, flinging fire at each other, and I guess the names of their attacks are spelled out, because I recognize random kanji.
Kya - I guess this means you don't want me to show you my Shinesman manga. Because that would be sl0ring, and we all know that I don't sl0re. Yes, poor Sekito and Sasaki-kun have a cute relationship, and I could totally see that. XD But let me show you the manga, and - oh, wait, I promised not to do that. Naughty me! XD
Mmmm, good apple. I'm pretty tired, and should sleep...sometime.
I checked my value as a human being - it's exactly $2,210,584.00. Now I have to find someone who's willing to pay that. o.o

Interesting day. Worked a little - yes, it's Saturday, but they wanted me to come in on Saturday T_T - and then went to Best Buy to pick up a scanner. I have my BABY NOW! *_* It's a Canon, steel grey, about an inch thick, and weighs about five pounds. I can carry its box like a briefcase. o.o; Of course, this means it's pretty expensive as scanners go. T_T Oh well, that's OK.
Been pretty busy lately, and more tired than anything. Worked 11 hours yesterday, which sucked. And when I come back, I can barely summon up enough energy to do anything online. I can chat just fine, but designing, blogging, whatever - I procrastinate like hell. XD
At any rate, there's a new genkiland layout up now. How's it look? o.o OK? Sort of?
Now that I have a scanner, I intend to start working on pages properly again. :DD There's a lot of things that I've just let slide - such as my bebop movie page. T_T Maybe I'll slap together a Tenjou Tenge page when I get the missing volumes. Or an MPD-Psycho page, when I find an image that I can post on the web safely. XD And DEFINITELY my goddamn Petshop of Horrors page, which has been sitting there, snarling at me, for about a year now. ;;^^

Oh. Most recent thing I've read, fanfiction-wise, is this Iori & Leona lemon in which Iori starts talking like Smoove B so that he can get his freak on with Leona. I nearly died laughing. XD I'm sure the hilarity was unintentional, but I couldn't help it. XD Most lemons are a) unintentionally hilarious, or b) just.........just wrong. Like the Kuno/Kodachi one, or the one with Cid and Yuffie's chocobo. No, I'm not kidding. >_<

Tonight has been the night of random unFing in #y. I think we scared off Eleanor. ;;^_^ Whoops!
Last weekend was fun! Drove up with Krisit to Kya's house after work, and shortly afterwards, Ka, Justin, and Erin showed up. Dude, Ka, Erin and Justin are always welcome at IL-gumi parties if they feel up to coming. XD They roxx0r! Friday night was SNK slore night; we played games until about 6 am, and by that time, we were so incoherent from lack of sleep that we were babbling. Between the four of us, we managed to have 75% of a functional brain, and the conversation was utterly ridiculous and utterly filthy. Don't ask. Or, do, and be prepared for us to tell you. We're f17+hY.
We fell asleep on the floor/couch where we'd been sitting, and when we woke, we went to Mitsuwa, where we bought stuff and giggled a lot. I picked up Tenjou Tenge #6, which had the same lovely art. ( I need to go back in 2 weeks or so to try to find TT #3-5. T_T ) The main character seems to be turning out to be Maya, which I approve of. Aya seemed to be typical cute jiggly brainless eyecandy, but Maya is bitchy cool jiggling eyecandy. And Souichirou or whatever his name is got a haircut! Thank god! *_* (checks manga) Yeah, his name is Tagi Souichirou. I'm ASSUMING that's him in volume 6 - but where did Aya go? What's with his hair? And his eyebrows? I really need those missing volumes T_T Well, ASSUMING that's Souichirou-kun, he and Maya make an adorable couple. I might actually like the canon pairing in a series for once! O_O
I also ended up buying Gasaraki #1, Get Back #6, and MPD-Psycho #1-2. MPD-Psycho is FUCKED UP. I can not stress that enough. It really disturbs me. I need to buy more. The art's lovely and creepy at the same time, not in a gothy way, but in the 'it makes my skin crawl but I like it nonetheless' sort of way. Strong outlines, long, slanted eyes for the eyes, and everyone looks stoned/insane. Must have more. But I need to crawl through the actual dialogue to understand WHY it's so fucked up.
Afterwards, we went back to Kya's place, and Juri, Gregly, and Matt showed up. I ended up going BACK to Mitsuwa with them T_T where I was much Enabled, and bought more stuff. I also managed to traumatize the entire car inadvertently. I'm sorry, guys! I was just relating things secondhand! Don't blame me! XD
Finally we all congregated at Kya's AGAIN, where we ate burgers and were genki before we went to Super Just Games. Dammit, I have NO CHANGE LEFT. T_T And I found out that yes, I can NOT play driving games. XD But Justin oWned me at Soul Edge, and Matt oWned me at that damn Megaman game. I must pracice somehow. We DDR'd some, and Gregly and I achieved some kind of DDR fusion. We danced Luv To Me basic, because we were both tired, and at the end, we both got AAA, with the exact same number of perfects and greats. It was scary. Gregly! W00t!
After GreglyJuriMatt left, we popped in petshop of horrors and brought out the booze. Krisit eventually fell asleep, but Kya and I got quite wasted, and Ka and Justin somewhat less so. We ended up playing a lot of Twinkle Star Sprites and KOF '99, which I still maintains has a giant H as a logo. I can NOT see the '99. XD More babbling and insane giggling ensued, I demanded hugs, and I drew Orochi Pander Puu. ( check Kya's blog for the scan XD ) Now that I think about it, the Orochi tattoo shoulda been dripping, if it's Orochi Puunder, but it's pretty amusing for such a drunken wench. :D Finally I fell asleep on the couch, and we woke up the next day. Krisit and I drove home around noon, and then I crashed, because I had a teensy headache from the alkie and lack of sleep :D But I had a lot of fun this weekend! We must do this again soon!
OK, I gotta go. T_T The usual reason.
