Speaking of which, here, Juri, are the lyrics to "It's Gonna Rain." :D
I also started a Vagrant Story ficlist. It's vsfic on egroups/yahoo groups.....whatever. :D

Bad news on the IL-gumi phun front - I have no CAR this weekend. -_- The bastards refused to give it to me. So, like, I'm stuck unless they miraculously change their minds. Unless j00 all want to come down HERE and see me, in which case, the bastards will have no choice but to put up and shut up. XD The idea of deliberately pissing them off like that sounds pretty good, actually. O_O So! If you feel like that, there's that - otherwise, have a genki time this weekend. -_-
Even if I moved out and could decide on my own when I see the IL-gumi, then I wouldn't have a bloody CAR. Dammit. ;;^^ You're damned if you do...oh, and my mom's like, " But you saw your friends LAST WEEK, didn't you?"
I swear, if it were up to them, I'd see people approximately once a month, if that often.

I think the crayons were supposed to be for KIDS, but hey, we're easily amused. Heh heh. I asked xio to scan the pages in her much-abused sketchbook that we drew in during ACen2k1. We were at Olive Garden, and you know those crayons that they have so that small kids can color in the placemats? Well.
Heh Heh heh. Click here. For the record, I drew the Tomoyh0 in picture #4. Picture #6 is courtesy of Ka-chan. XD
I personally think Tomoyh0 came out very well, considering I was drawing with a red crayon! She looks so sweet and innocent but she's wearing hotpants and carrying a whip! :D

Whoa, slow the world down, I wanna get off... I go out of town for two days and lots of shiznat happens. Damn you all, wait for me! XD
First of all: Julie, Gregly, are you really engaged? Congrats! :DD
Second of all: when we got back at 8 pm last night, we found a shitload of frantic messages on our answering machine. One of my dad's co-workers and his wife were in Europe, leaving their two teenaged sons alone. ( We've known the family for my entire life, I think. ) Another of my dad's co-workers was supposed to be on hand if the kids needed anything. Well, they called us, all freaked out, because the elder of the two kids had gotten into a bad car accident last night and had been in surgery until 2 am.
Me: He can DRIVE? No way, I used to babysit him! ....wait, I'm 20, so that makes him.....*pause* damn. So my parents rushed to the hospital. The boy's parents had rushed home from Europe, and now everyone was at the hospital. Luckily, he broke an arm, his pelvis, and both thighs, but considering he rolled over doing 100 mph on Staley Rd ( that's a country road ) I think he's incredibly fucking lucky. My dad told me that his mom let him drive solo right after getting his liscence, despite the fact that he kept bumping and scraping the car. Of course, my parents promptly went into a 'stupid kids' rant. XD " You kids always give us grey hairs!"
But I swear, if my mom gives me shit about me not being an 'experienced highway driver' after I just drove 800 miles round trip to get her from Ann Arbor, I'm going to pull my hair out. ( The relevance is, she determines whether I can go out of town, say, to Chicago, on my 'experience'. -_- ) Fun fact: the speed limit in Michigan is 70 mph, and the highways are usually set up so that they're widely divided with a strip of forest between them ( so no place for cops to hide. ) I set the cruise control at 85 , and kept pace with the rest of the traffic. ;;;;^^ We visited my sister and her husband at their new house in Ann Arbor. It's a really nice house on Seventh Street. Overall, I must say that I like Ann Arbor. It's kind of like a giant C-U, more urban than 'big-city' ish. And it has PINBALL PETE'S! XD Pinball Pete's has second, third, and 4th mix DDR, solo mix 2000, guitar freaks, beatmania, whathave you. If you're ever in Ann Arbor, Pinball Pete's is at 1214 S. University. I tried Kick the Can SSR, and got a B. Yay me!
My sister was throwing up a lot yesterday. I think it's an interaction between alcohol and her Glucophage. She's not diabetic, exactly, but her cells are insulin-resistant, or something similar. So she's taking Glucophage prophylactically, but she also still drinking, so it makes her violently ill. ( I mean drinking, like, she had three glasses of champagne to toast the new house with us, and she had a gin and tonic two days earlier. -_- ) She's such a dumbass, she should know better! -_- She's a doctor, for god's sakes. Glucophage and alcohol don't really mix.
I'm tired. The arches of my feet are sore from holding down the accelerator for six hours yesterday. I'm going to play more VS, and make the world go away.

o/~ Boy, you're gonna carry that weight, carry that weight a long time... o/~ Quick blog. Driving to Ann Arbor this weekend to visit my sister. Might DDR at the 1337 arcades, if I get around to it. I'll be back Sunday night at the very latest. Yay 8 hour drive. -_- My cousin's kid was named Krishna in the end. Hm. On Tuesday I saw a really incredibly good movie, Memento. If you've heard anything about it, you know it's about a guy whose wife was raped and murdered in a home invasion, and he himself was slammed into a wall so hard that he suffered a head injury and now suffers from anterograde amnesia, you know, you can't form any new memories. Every few minutes or so he becomes a clean slate, so while he's hunting for the guys that killed his wife, he has to keep this elaborate system of notes, polaroids, and tattoos to keep the facts straight. It's a fascinating movie, because it starts at the end, and moves backwards in time, scene by scene. This way, you're left as confused and clueless as the main character; you don't know what's in the past either! Trust me, it really works incredibly well, and leads to some hilarious situations. For example: Scene opens with the protagonist sitting in a bathroom, holding a half-empty bottle of wine. He looks at it, perplexed. " I don't....FEEL drunk...hm. What am I doing here?" Or: He's running through a junkyard, apparently alongside a guy running on the other side of the cars between them. " OK, what am I doing now...I'm...chasing someone?" He darts towards the guy, and the guy comes at him, too. " No. He's chasing me...ACK!" He runs like hell. :D
It's fascinating; every time he meets someone who acts like they know him, he has to dig in his pocket for a polaroid, and the notes he scribbled on the back of the shots. It was a REALLY COOL movie, with an ending ( beginning? ) you wouldn't have expected. If you can see this, you definitely should; I'd even call it the best movie I've seen this year. But it's one of those mindfuck movies I so adore. :D
Two things I've seen recently: Ebichu and Puni Puni Poemi. ph34r. Ebichu is the utterly Wrong Gainax show about the hamster and her goshuujin-chama and her no-good boyfriend and lots of s3x, the green, um, buzzy thing, her master's 'special undies', and the guy who gets turned on by Ebichu. Oh dear. The seiyuu are, uh, Mitsuishi Kotono as Ebichu, whatsherface Michie ( Sailormars' seiyuu ) as her goshuujin-chama, and Seki Tomokazu as the sleazebag boyfriend. XD It was so terribly wrong I was giggling and covering my face half the time. You have black hamsterfaces as figleaves, a lot of what Ebichu says is squeaked out ( bleeped out ) and it's just...so...so WRONG!!!
Puni Puni Poemi is also terribly, terribly wrong. It's a spin-off for Excel Saga, only it's ecchier and crazier. Let that be enough description for you. @_@ XD It has a Tomoyo-clone in it, who, um, is very direct in her, um, actions towards the object of her affections. XD
And I started watching raw Ryvius ( uh, OK, Infinite Leviath, but you know. ) and it's really neat, as I remembered. I have, what, 1-8 that xio gave me? Must...strain...JP...knowledge...and FAIL!
Hm. I'm also working on my Petshop of Horrors page again for the first time in months. Those who know why can sympathize with my grim determination. ^.-

My dreams are too disturbing nowadays. o.o; I'm having weird dreams lately. Playing too much Vagrant Story and reading Patricia Highsmith's Ripley novels is guaranteed to give you weird dreams. Gregly: you might appreciate T.H.E.M. Reduced Anime. Like book-a-minute, only geekier. XD
I had sparkly jello last night, courtesy of Juri. We all hung out for a while, and I discovered that although I have no practice, I'm able to just barely pass almost all 3rd mix songs in Maniac on controller-DDR. The things that killed me and Juri were Dead End SSR ( or maybe just me? ) and Paranoia Clean Mix SSR. We oWned otherwise. We also had an amusing experience with a high-school guy at Fazoli's which Kya-chan wrote about. It was amusing. XD
Later that night, Kya and I played Bust-a-groove 2, and we managed to get double-fever-time with Pander and Pander. I swear, that was SO fucking worth it. XDD Nothing quite like watching two half-naked panda-men dancing with each other.
There was a brief crisis last afternoon when I couldn't find my PSX memory card in my car. Cue major panic from Puu: NOOO! MY DDR GAMES! MY BUST-A-GROOVE..........MY *VAGRANT STORY!!* Finally Juri found it, and I hugged it to my chest and wept tears of joy. XD
Got called back to an interview with KAPLAN. I swear, this would be evil fucking irony if I'd be teaching a KAPLAN MCAT class and couldn't get into med school myself. -_- ( You have to have MCAT scores in something like the 90% percentile and above in the section you want to teach. I got something like 90% percentile for Verbal, 93% percentile for Physical Sciences, and 98% percentile for Organic Sciences. And I CAN'T FUCKING GET INTO MED SCHOOL! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD? >_< ) OK, I'm done now. ;;^^ I also might work at CCSO; you know, sit at a compy and IRC all day, occasionally answering a question? I'm getting too old for this... I was up until around 2 am, and then at 7:40 am my dad woke me. ' Can you drive me to Altgeld? I'm LATE!' So I rolled out of bed, drove him to teach his 7:50 am class, and now I'm staring at the computer screen, too wound up to sleep.
This afternoon's Krisit's GRE, so I'll be spending an hour or two with her and buying her a shake or something, and then at around 3 pm, I'm driving to Bloomington to buy Jurinyu a shake. Ah, all these stressed-out people. ;;^^ Gotta distribute the Puu-love, as Juri puts it. Kya! I'll meet you there at 4, OK? :D
Another good children's book that you might like is called 'Charlotte Sometimes', by Penelope Farmer. If you're at all into the Cure, download the song by the same name by the Cure; I think Robert Smith was up too late rereading that book. :D " o/~ She was crying and crying for the girl who had died so many years before....sometimes I dream...Charlotte Sometimes... o/~ " Other good kids' books would be, um, The Brothers Lionheart, and Ronia the Robber's Daughter, and Mio My Son, all by Astrid Lindgren. ( She wrote the books about Pippi Longstocking, which, if you read them, are kind of fucked up. Pippi's on crack. ) The Moomin books by Tove Janssen are also good, especially 'Comet in Moominland' and 'Moominpapa at Sea' and 'Moominland Midwinter.' I like those because they evoke such strange, unreal landscapes - the land drying and withering as the comet approaches, the loneliness and isolation of the tiny lighthouse on the tiny island, and the utter stillness of a snow-buried house where Moomintroll is the only one actually AWAKE in the house all winter. You read them through, and they're really kind of neat. ' Finn Family Moomintroll' is genki, too. The JP made the Moomin anime, and Koyasu did the voice of Snufkin, can you believe it? XD I have Moomin DOUJINSHI from around 1990.
Gosh, now that I reread it, I read a lot of children's books by Scandinavian authors. I wonder WHY. -_-
My back itches. *scratch, scratch*
In the VS Powaa Corner - well, I'm beating up dummies to increase my affinities. Blah. Takes too goddamn long. ;_; I got quite a way into the cathedral, but then I got stuck in that room with a chest that I couldn't reach, no exits, and the damn levitating block thingy was way out of reach. >_< So I turned it off, which sucked because I'd killed about half a dozen of the room bosses. Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate. Mmm, strawberry shakeup. Although I read a healthy dose of fantasy when I was a kid, you know, Narnia and Xanth and the like, the stuff I *really* liked was the grimmer, more fucked-up stuff. My favorite author when I was in grade school was probably John Bellairs. He wrote a series of books that began with " The House With A Clock In Its Walls." To give you an idea of what kind of story this is, it's illustrated by Edward Gorey. XD I *loved* those books. They were dark and messed up. :D Another series I loved was a bunch of books about these siblings that travelled through time using a sprig of thyme. I'll be damned if I can remember what they were called, though! ;_; There was ANOTHER series of books, too, about a brother and a sister who have this summer house near a lake. They go to the lake, and they find all these really old summer houses on the lake, and two really old people are living there in one of the houses, a brother and a sister. And these two old people and the kids become friends, and the old people tells stories about the people who used to live in all these houses. I remember the upshot of the entire series is that the kid's parents decide to live in one of the old lake houses, and everyone's genki. Does anyone remember what THAT series was called? If you do, email me, or blog about it - but email me :D I want to reread those!
Oh, and May, I don't know if you read this, but I just realized that maybe technically Ashley can be called a knight. He's a member of the VKP, right, the Valendia Knights of the Peace or whatever?

o/~ Don't run away, it's only me o/~ And now, the real blog. Whew. Well, my cousin's wife had her baby on Thursday; he was adorable and hairy. I mean, he had all this hair on his head, and even his shoulders were hairy! At least I know I'm in a mammalian family, right? So Saturday morning was spent, screwdriver in hand, trying to assemble a 10,000 piece wooden crib before the baby came home from the hospital. At 1 pm, I handed my dad the screwdriver, told him I had to go, and drove over to Meng's place for IDR. Only about six people, including me, were actually there, but that meant it was lots of fun and everyone got as many turns as they wanted. We played Extra Mix - that's what it was called, right? and now I am quite sure that I don't want to ever try dancing 'dive' or whatever that song was called. It's the fastest song on any DDR mix, I think. Matt somehow managed to pass it on maniac, which either makes him hella 1337, or insane. Then I headed home instead of going to the barbecue at Dave's because my cousin's wife's father wanted to take us all out for dinner. So we did. The next day, my parents went to Chicago. I went to lunch with Matt-gumi, and then stayed at home and played Vagrant Story most of the day. Which brings me to the... VAGRANT STORY POWAA CORNER!! First, two words. BLOODY HELL!! >_< Ok. Played my way through about 50% of the map. Fought Tieger and Neesa, which was easy; just went after Tieger and two-three chains did it. I have a lovely little Damascus dagger of 1337-ness that does such good damage on everything against phantoms and the undead, and I have a silver staff that's only good against those two classes, so everything's good. Soon I'll start working on an ultimate weapon. Heck, my dagger even kills dragons and ogres and whatever bosses you like with just a few hits. I love it.
What's really annoying is that now I'm stuck. I'm in the first room of the Kiltean Temple, and there's that big chasm and the save point on the other side? I can't jump the goddamn chasm. I can't. I've tried everything. I've cast invigorate on myself and jumped, jumped from the ledge the FAQ tells you to jump from - and it's too far. >_< I don't have any Faerie Wings, but I'm tempted to go back to the Snowfly Forest and find myself some. I am hella stuck. And it annoys me. >_<
( Plot stuff follows, highlight to read. ) So finally we get some of the plot. Callo listens to Hardin tell about his past - well, his 'inner self' talks to her, and she Heart-Scryes or whatever it's called. So he had a brother and went to prison, eh? Poor bastard. Then Guildenstern catches up, and tortures Hardin to find out where the Key to the Gran Grimoire is. Hardin doesn't know anything except that it's the 'Blood Sin', and Guildenstern uses the Dark to take the appearance of Sydney and trick Hardin into telling him what he knows. The 'Blood Sin', as Romeo explains, is a inversed cross - the Rood Inverse - branded/tattooed into the backs of heretics in the olden days. ( Cue shot of Sydney's admittedly attractive back, covered with the Rood Inverse. ) So Sydney had the Key all along, and didn't bother to tell Hardin. Romeo tells Hardin that Sydney 'played him false', and Hardin refuses to believe that Sydney would do that to hin. ^.- Then Romeo stabs Hardin with a rapier, which is probably a fatal wound since everyone knows rapiers are the most deadly weapons in the game. :P Hardin collapses, and little Joshua Bardorba, who Callo is holding back, screams and reaches out for Hardin. Meanwhile, Sydney is hanging out...somewhere...and Rosencrantz catches up to him. NOW we find out what Sydney wants with Ashley; he wants to make Ashley his successor! o.O;; He wants to give his powers over the Dark to someone he can trust won't misuse them and is strong enough to control them - hence, Ashley. And I guess this is just all testing him; if Ashley can catch him, he gets the powers. o.o Whoa. Rosencrantz is jealous, though, and smacks Sydney, which isn't cool. I'm going to kick his scrawny orange ass. The cut-scene ends with a truly terrifying closeup of R's crotch, which was uncalled for. Oh, and Grissom is a zombie. And the other Cold Ones are driving him nuts and telling him to kill people. Freaky. " Forgive...me...my body....is not cooperating..."
Weird, wild stuff. I'm going to Ann Arbor next weekend, so no Chi-town for me. -_-#

Heh heh. A side-thought. Oi, Tay! I was reading your FF7 fic, and it reminded me of this doujinshi I have. XD ( Highlight the following space for a description of the crazy yaoi hijinks. It's not explicit, so it's work-safe reading, but I've decided to have pity on readers who may not enjoy reading about my doujinshi collection.) OK, so Sephy, Zax, and Cloud have stopped somewhere on the way to Nibelheim. Zax sends Cloud off to make coffee, and he genkily scampers off. Zax watches him go, and essentially comments what a nice tail Cloud has. Sephy, of course, pretends he's above noticing such things, but Zax is in a good mood, and so he asks Sephy if he's ever fantasized about Cloud. To break the ice, he tells his own little fantasy: " Honey, I'm home!" Cloud, dressed like a super-uke in a oversized fuzzy sweater with sleeves that cover his hands, dashes out, and helps Zax with his coat. " Okaeri! *sparkle* Dinner's ready!" ( Zax is dressed in a suit and tie; he looks really good, ponytail and all. ) Then Zax explains that he has to work late, and he can't take time for dinner, he has to go back right now. Of course, this sends super-uke Cloud into a giant pout/sulk fest. " You promised to be here for dinner tonight! You liar." *pout, sniffle* Then, of course, Zax has to reassure Cloud. *smooch, smooch, fade to black, sound effects* Zax is all XD when he's telling this fantasy to Sephiroth, who is looking at him kind of O_o;. Then Sephiroth unbends enough to tell HIS fantasy about Cloud. Cloud is waiting in a cell for his captor to arrive. For unknown reasons, he's only wearing a frilly apron that barely covers his front. o.o; Sephiroth, who's his captor, of course, comes into the cell, says some weird cryptic evil-overlord stuff, and m0L3st0rZ cloud. " Iyan~ Iyan~~!" Sephiroth's gone into a blushy closed-eyed hand-on-cheek Tomoyo phase, and Zax is staring at Sephy as if he's from another planet. " You're a freaking pervert!" Sephiroth GLARES at him, and Cloud comes back into the room with the coffee, still all genkily oblivious. He turns away to add sugar, or something, and Zax and Sephy both stare at him speculatively behind his back, H-chi rising from them like an evil dark cloud. ( It's the funniest picture. ) Cloud senses the evil chi, and shivers. " Whoa, that's creepy-feeling." Isn't that a riot? XD Now Playing: Fatboy Slim/Rolling Stones - Satisfaction Skank
